SAT/ACT Tutor

GradePower Learning St. Petersburg is seeking an upbeat, reliable, and enthusiastic part-time High School Math and SAT/ACT tutor to join our team.

Position Overview:
In this role, you will work with students in grades 9-12, helping them build skills and confidence in mathematics and standardized test preparation. All teaching materials, standardized test strategies, and digital testing platforms are provided, and no lesson planning is required. We will fully train you in our proprietary GradePower philosophy and methods.

Requirements:

  - Strong background in high school mathematics (Grades 9–12).
  - Familiarity with current SAT/ACT testing procedures, methodologies, and strategies.
  - Availability to work in-person during after-school, evening, or Saturday hours (flexible scheduling; not required to work all available shifts).
  - Ability to commute to our St. Petersburg location (this is an in-person position).
  - Successful completion of a mandatory background check.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • 3rd & 4th year university students with tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Knowledge of the current 9th to 12th grade curriculum

Experience:

  • Some experience teaching/tutoring high school-level Math and/or SAT/ACT
  • Must have strong skills in Algebra, Advanced Math, Data Analysis, Geometry & Trigonometry.
  • Strong English language Reading and Writing skills which includes knowledge of grammar, rhetoric and critical reading.
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

Responsibilities (Position Details):

You will work directly with students as a Tutor with the following responsibilities:

  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
  • Teaching in-person
  • Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post-lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Job Type: Part-time

Salary Range:

$20 - $22 / hour based on previous experience and education

Schedule:

  • Monday - Thursday: afternoons and evenings
  • Saturday mornings/early afternoons
