Part-Time Intervention Specialist Tutor Needed!

Exciting news! We have just been awarded the "Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship" through the state of Ohio.

Therefore, we are currently seeking a part-time certified intervention specialist for a tutoring role in our learning center at GradePower Learning North Olmsted. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, has familiarity with the IEP process (including documentation), and is passionate about ensuring that the assistance they are receiving in our center matches their educational goals in school as well. 

At GradePower Learning, our tutors do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements:

All tutors at GradePower Learning work during after-school and evening hours Mon - Thur (4:00pm - 7:30pm) and/or Saturdays from 9:00am - 1:00pm at least 2 days a week. Your students will love working with you and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person, so you must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Additionally, Background Check screening is mandatory.

We encourage you to apply if you have a majority of the following requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in relevant field
• Teaching certification is an asset
• Good knowledge of the current K-12th grade curriculum

Experience:

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a K-12th grade level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with multiple students with an IEP

Responsibilities (Position Details):

You will work directly with students while:

• Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in post-lesson notes
• Completing daily student communication updates
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
